Electrical Cables & Wires

Electrical Cables & Wires are the conductive pathways that carry power and data throughout a building. Wires are single conductors, while cables are groups of insulated wires bundled together (e.g., NM-B “Romex” for residential wiring, THHN/THWN in conduit). Selection is governed by the application (in-wall, underground, high-temperature), voltage rating, and most critically, the correct wire gauge (AWG size) to safely handle the circuit’s amperage without overheating. Using undersized wire is a serious fire hazard. All installations must comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
