Safety Precautions

1. Read the Manual:

   • Always read and thoroughly understand the manufacturer's instructions and guidelines provided in the manual before using the hydraulic bottle jack.

2. Inspect the Jack:

   • Regularly inspect the jack for any signs of damage, leaks, or worn-out components before each use. If you notice any issues, repair or replace the jack as needed.

3. Choose a Stable Surface:

   • Place the hydraulic bottle jack on a firm, level, and stable surface to ensure stability during operation. Avoid uneven or soft ground.

4. Verify Weight Capacity:

   • Never exceed the weight capacity specified by the manufacturer. The weight capacity is typically indicated on the jack, and exceeding it can lead to failure and accidents.

5. Position the Load Correctly:

   • Center the load on the jack saddle to distribute the weight evenly. Ensure that the load is stable and won't shift during the lifting process.

6. Use Proper Lifting Points:

   • Lift the load at designated lifting points recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Avoid lifting from unstable or weak areas that may cause the load to shift.

7. Pump Handle Operation:

   • Operate the pump handle with smooth and controlled movements. Avoid jerky or sudden actions that can lead to instability or loss of control.

8. Use Safety Stands:

   • Once the load is lifted to the desired height, immediately place sturdy safety stands or blocks under the load to provide additional support before working underneath.

9. Bleed Air from the System:

   • Before using the hydraulic bottle jack, bleed any air from the hydraulic system as instructed in the manual to maintain proper functionality.

10. Avoid Overextension:

    • Avoid extending the hydraulic ram beyond its maximum limit. Overextension can compromise the stability of the jack and result in failure.

11. Secure the Load:

    • If possible, secure the load to prevent movement during lifting. Straps or chains can be used to stabilize the load.

12. Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

    • Wear appropriate PPE, such as gloves and safety glasses, to protect yourself from potential hazards.

13. Work in Pairs:

    • If working underneath a lifted load, have a colleague present to provide assistance or raise an alarm in case of an emergency.

14. Lower the Load Carefully:

    • When lowering the load, do so slowly and with control. Keep hands and body clear of moving parts.
