Safety Precautions

1. Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
   o Always wear safety goggles to protect eyes from metal shards or dust.
   o Use gloves to protect hands from sharp edges and blade contact.

2. Secure the Material Being Cut
   o Clamp or firmly hold the workpiece to prevent movement during cutting.
   o Avoid attempting cuts on unstable surfaces.

3. Inspect the Blade Before Use
   o Check for cracks, wear, or damage and replace dull blades.
   o Ensure the blade is correctly installed with the teeth facing forward.

4. Maintain Proper Blade Tension
   o Adjust the tension screw to keep the blade taut, reducing flex and breakage.
   o Avoid over-tightening, which can stress or snap the blade.

5. Use Controlled Cutting Strokes
   o Apply even pressure on the forward stroke and release slightly on the return.
   o Do not force the blade; let the teeth do the work.

6. Store Safely
   o Hang or store the hacksaw in a designated tool rack or box when not in use.
   o Keep blades protected to prevent injury or dulling.

7. Cut in a Clear Work Area
   o Ensure the area is free of obstacles and tripping hazards.
   o Maintain good lighting to see the cut path clearly.

8. Replace Worn Handles or Frames
   o Do not use a hacksaw with a cracked or broken frame.
   o Inspect regularly for structural integrity.

9. Blade Disposal
   o Dispose of worn or broken blades in a sharps container or wrap securely to avoid injury.
