Safety Precautions 

1. Eye Protection:

   • Always wear safety glasses or goggles to protect your eyes from flying debris, metal shavings, or other particles generated during the drilling process.

2. Ear Protection:

   • If you're working with power tools, especially in noisy environments, consider using ear protection to prevent hearing damage over prolonged periods.

3. Clothing and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

   • Wear appropriate clothing and PPE, including gloves, to protect your hands from sharp edges, hot metal, and other potential hazards.

4. Secure Work piece:

   • Ensure that the work piece is securely clamped or held in place to prevent it from moving during drilling. This helps maintain control and accuracy while reducing the risk of accidents.

5. Stable Work Surface:

   • Work on a stable and flat surface to prevent slips, trips, or falls. Make sure the workbench or platform is suitable for the task at hand.

6. Tool Inspection:

   • Before using the drill bits, inspect them for any damage, such as dull edges, cracks, or other defects. Damaged drill bits can cause poor performance and increase the risk of accidents.

7. Proper Tool Selection:

   • Choose the right drill bit size and type for the material you are drilling. Using the wrong tool may lead to inefficient drilling, overheating, and potential breakage.

8. Secure Chuck and Collet:

   • Ensure that the drill bit is securely and properly inserted into the chuck or collet of the drill. A loose drill bit can cause wobbling and compromise the drilling process.

9. Drilling Speed and Pressure:

   • Follow the recommended drilling speed for the material being worked on. Applying excessive pressure or using the wrong speed can result in overheating, dulling of the drill bit, and potential breakage.

10. Cooling and Lubrication:

    • When drilling metals, use a cutting fluid or lubricant to cool the drill bit and reduce friction. This helps prolong the life of the drill bit and improves drilling efficiency.

11. Avoid Contact with Rotating Parts:

    • Keep hands, clothing, and other objects away from the rotating drill bit and moving parts of the drill to prevent entanglement or injury.

12. Work in Well-Ventilated Areas:

    • If you're working with materials that produce dust or fumes, ensure proper ventilation to avoid inhaling harmful particles.

13. Switch Off Power When Changing Bits:

    • Turn off the power to the drill when changing drill bits or making adjustments to the tool to prevent accidental starts.
