Sandvik vibrating screens are custom-designed and available through three main global IP ranges: the SK range (South Africa), the SM range (Australia), and the S range (Finland) . The SK range handles medium and fine screening applications in quarrying with circular motion inclined screens, available in 2, 3, and 4 deck designs with inclination of 16-22 degrees and separation from 130mm down to 1mm . The SM range offers some of the largest vibrating screens globally for heavy-duty mining applications . The S range provides precise sizing for aggregates and is widely used in the building industry and quarries . All screens feature huck-bolted side plate construction for long service life . The ACS-s condition monitoring system, integrated with the SAM digital platform, enables real-time fault detection and predictive maintenance . Screens are available with throughput capacities from 1 to 8,000 tonnes per hour , supported by comprehensive lifecycle services and spare parts support .

Sandvik Vibrating Screen

PRIMARY USES

1. High-Capacity Classification and Separation in Mining and Aggregates
Primary Use: A range of heavy-duty vibrating screens (available in SK, SM, and S series) used for accurate classification, separation, scalping, and dewatering of bulk materials in mining, quarrying, and aggregates processing. Essential for operations requiring precise product sizing, high throughput, and efficient material handling.
How it helps: For process engineers and plant operators, Sandvik vibrating screens deliver high-capacity and high-accuracy screening performance. The SK range is designed for general quarrying and construction applications with a separation range from 130mm down to 1mm, and a maximum feed size generally limited to 200mm. The SM range, originating from Australia, includes some of the largest vibrating screens in the world and is well known for its high capacity and uptime, handling the largest quantities of ore, coal, coke, base metals, and rocks while delivering industry-benchmark classification accuracy. All screen designs can be fully customised to suit unique application requirements and throughputs.
2. Digital Monitoring and Condition Management
Primary Use: Modern Sandvik screens are equipped with the ACS-s condition monitoring system, which provides real-time data on equipment health and performance .
How it helps: The ACS-s system uses up to 32 synchronous sensors per installation and magnetically mounted, energy-harvesting wireless sensors that require no wired power. It detects the first signs of imbalance, abnormal motion, structural fatigue or unusual acoustic signals, enabling early fault detection and proactive maintenance before serious damage occurs. The system integrates seamlessly with SAM by Sandvik, a cloud-based digital assistant, allowing users to scale up condition monitoring across multiple machines and locations .

SECONDARY USES

1. Scalping: Grizzly screens (SG series) remove fines from the feed before primary crushing, protecting crushers and improving overall plant efficiency .
2. Dewatering: SV dewatering screens are available for applications requiring moisture removal from processed materials .
3. Multi-Slope (Banana) Screening: SN and SM multi-slope screens offer high capacity and accurate classification for large mining operations .
4. Fine Screening: SK screens can achieve separation down to 1mm, suitable for final screening of finished fractions .
Splitter Screens: SK screens can be used to divide flows within a plant for balanced processing .
